Update 0.1.1 (Version Notes)


Hello everyone!

I'm overjoyed after receiving messages from players telling me they liked the combat, the characters, and the scenes, as well as messages about balancing and reporting bugs that help me polish the current content for everyone's enjoyment.

I have addressed the reported issues and modified the base stats of Eilayda, which shouldn’t have been so low considering the number of enemies you face in the kidnappers' dungeon. Therefore, I present you the notes for the update Ethereal Sunder 0.1.1:

New: Now resting in the Bar's bedroom recovers 13% of Eilayda's Max MP.

New: Added tutorial about using the Magic Empower spell during the prologue fight.

New: Added a small event if the player enters the Essence Reflection before completing the Kidnappers' dungeon.

Fixed: Issue with a trigger that made the clown minigame available during the night you are meant to visit Bereck's house.

Fixed: Defeated enemies inside the kidnappers' dungeon respawn if you go up or down the stairs.

Fixed: Money-related events show the wrong icon in the notification.

Fixed: Tutorial events repeating inside the Kidnappers' dungeon if you go up or down the stairs.

Fixed: BGM stops playing after leaving the Essence Reflection.

Balancing: Max HP increased by 110.

Balancing: Max MP increased by 23.

Balancing: Defense increased by 4.

Balancing: Magic Defense increased by 4.

Balancing: Magic Attack increased by 3.

Balancing: The cost for the spells 'Ice Knife,'' Ice Lance' and 'Ray of Frost' is now 6 mana instead of 8.

Balancing: Weak Health potions recovery increased from 20% to 25%.

Balancing: Normal Health potions HP recovery increased from 40% to 45%.

Balancing: Increased the number of enemies inside the Kidnappers' dungeon that can drop Weak Health potions.

Balancing: Removed one strong enemy from the Kidnappers' dungeon 1st floor.

Balancing: Increased Max HP gained from breaking a 'LifeSeal' from 25 to 35.

Balancing: Increased initial stored mana inside the Box of mana preservation from 85 to 112.

As a side note, let me know if you could clear the entire kidnappers’ dungeon on the previous version. I’m very curious to know how you did it.

Can we get the 1.0 version again? for those who would like to do your little challenge in the dungeon lol

Sure. :) Although I don't see if it's possible to beat the dungeon in that setting. Enemies hit hard, and mana is spent very quickly.

Hello, Tried the new update and seem that its easier although it does have a few bugs with the bed still, The bed does not take gold off you when you use it but your Mana is recovered while if you use your day up and go there automatically it takes gold but does not recharge your mana.

I would also suggest increasing the amount of gold you get from the clown or nun as I don't think you get enough gold (if your also taking their daily mana) from them to stay a night, alternatively, you could increase the reward if and when you finish the hard minigame for them.

Now for the bug testing to come through, I decided to get all the skills in the Essence Reflection, it took awhile (more easier with bug above) and after all the crystals are done I wanted to share the stats i have after all them is unlocked, I never checked each module so am just going to list what the end result is:

  • 10 Attack
  • 31 Defence
  • 45 M. Attack
  • 38 M. Defence
  • 40 Agility
  • 45 Luck
  • HP Limit 585
  • MP Limit 278

I should also add the bottom Left crystal activates but nothing happens. Image below to show that its been all clear out and to show the one that became active. It takes a lot of mana to do this, while some of the higher requirement ones might of been placed better, it is pretty fun to knock them out one by one, could also make animations or light shows for when you open them, like the ground gets more shinier or something to indicate that your getting stronger.

One other thing, maybe add a dungeon you can re-enter in the next build to maybe help test the balance, maybe have some random enemies that may or may not be in the game just to help if anyone is interested in testing this sort of thing.

Sorry for a long update, hope the bug report and little feedback helps, not sure what your planning but am sure a lot will be interested in knowing.

Hello, thank you for playing this new update!

I just checked the events for the bed, and it seems I missed some lines during the sleep transition that created the bugs you mentioned. I corrected them, but I’ll do more tests to see if there are additional problems.

I'm planning on either having the hard stage minigame give you more gold or earning a significant gold bonus the first time you beat the hard stage. I'm still figuring out which one, but I'll improve the amount of gold you get.

Right now, there are no skills added to the game that you can learn. I have ideas of what to add that fits Eilayda’s ice magic theme, but I’m still implementing them.

The Essence Reflection will most likely be bigger in the future, so the stats you have right now are not the final version. However, they should work for the earlier updates.

I like your idea of adding visuals to indicate getting stronger. I will think about what would look good. Maybe some stars on the place where the seal was destroyed?

I have planned a permanent dungeon you can re-access whenever you like. I didn’t plan to add it for the next minor version update, but I’ll try to do it 😊

I appreciate that you took the time to write your impressions, give recommendations, and report issues. I have a lot planned for the game, and receiving feedback helps me a lot in bringing new ideas to the planning board. 

No problem, that was fast, you find these bugs pretty quickly. 

stars on the place where the seal was destroyed, that sounds pretty cool, would say you can give it a try and get some feedback for it and adapt from there, making it bigger would make it better though maybe make it more unique, maybe in a shape that represents the character or story? 

For the mini games, you could give players a little bonus for doing hard but also allow them to pick the difficulty so they can learn or maybe give up on hard but still able to get the daily mana or coin. You could also make the bed cost less or free after the player does something, maybe a side quest or help around the bar? 

If possible, Would like to request that there be a ending were she leaves with the same purity she arrived with, be challenging but would also be great to finally get that ending after jumping through challenging hoops lol
